Glengarry Glen Ross
Apollo Theatre, London from 27th September 2007 to 12th January 2008
Glengarry Glen Ross is David
Mamet’s modern classic
set in an office of cut-throat Chicago salesmen. Pitched in competition against
each other, they will do anything, legal or otherwise, to sell the most real
estate. In this world of high stakes and hard sell, the mantra is simple:
close the deal and you’ve won a Cadillac; blow the lead and you’re
f…d.

Audience's reviews:
I was looking forward to this new production immencely.
I came away slightly dissapointed. The producers must have felt very pleased
to have Johnathan Price. He, having been in the movie. This time around playing
the lead. But here woefully miscast. Aiden Gillen is strong, emotes freneticaly
the tradgedy of the piece. But for all his stagecraft, struggles to project.
The overall tone is a little too comic, drawing away from the emotional punch
of the piece. A good if flawed production. Go for Mamets writing. But sadly
you could do well simply to rent the film.
